John Galt bindery will work with you to achieve the exact look you want. This means we will work with most materials and material suppliers that you designate. The following is a list of material descriptions, and links to our major suppliers so that you can see the entire range of products they offer.
Covering Materials:
We use a wide range of natural materials such as Top Grain (Hide) Leather, bonded leather, and suede. Often less expensive faux products will work well: i.e. imitation leather or synthetic silk materials. There are also industry specialty materials: b-cloth (bookbinding cloth), deluxe cloth, linen, canvass, coated specialty paper (such as Skivertex) and laminated 4- color printed papers. Primary vendors for these products include Fibermark, Permalin, Cover Materials, Ecological Fibers websites by these companies offer important information and specifications for their product lines. We encourage you to visit them.
Structural Materials:
We use a variety of different specifications for padded board, unpadded board, flexible craft materials. There are many different board thicknesses available: 120 point, 100 point, 90 point or 80 point. Flexible craft material is normally 15 20 point.
Inside Materials:
In addition to the above covering materials, Moire, Taffeta (Windsor) cloth, and many different specially made lining materials (i.e. felt-like papers, velveteen) are available.
Document Corner Holders:
The corner pieces that hold the document in place can be: any material above or ribbons or vinyl.
Features/options:
Pen holders, pockets (slant, gusseted, horizontal and vertical), paper tablet insertion, business card holder, CD/DVD disc holders, book marks, magnetic closures, Velcro closures, leather laces, ring metals, D-rings, screw posts, medallions, plaques.
Stamping:
Foil stamped (gold, silver, and copper are the most popular), debossed (stamping without foil), embossed, screen printed, and laminated printed papers. Primary foil vendors include Nakai, API Foils, and Crown Roll Leaf.
